- Olive oil: or you can use avocado oil.
- Sweet onion: A nice sweet onion adds a lot of flavour to a spicy chilli.
- You can also add crunch and flavour to your dish by using bell peppers. You can choose any colour you like, such as yellow, orange, green or even red.
- Garlic cloves – can you have too much? The minced garlic enhances the flavour of this chilli, but you can add more if your garlic addiction is strong.
- Diced tomato: I love how diced tomatoes enhance the flavour of a chilli. They are just acidic enough to bring out the flavours of all other ingredients.
- Chicken broth: I use chicken broth if my protein is poultry. If you don’t have any vegetable or turkey stock, you can use that instead.
- Black beans can add extra protein to chilli recipes, so if you like, you can substitute other types of beans, such as pinto beans or Great Northern beans.
- Sweet corn: You can use fresh, canned or frozen sweet corn in your chilli. When using frozen corn, make sure to thaw it before adding it.
- Seasoning: This chilli is enhanced by a blend of ground cumin, chilli flakes and flakes of dried oregano.
How to make chicken Chili
- Sauté the vegetables – Heat oil in a large pot on medium heat. Sauté the onion, peppers and garlic until they are tender. This will take approximately 5-7 minutes.
