Chicken lollipops

Chicken lollipops – a juicy, succulent chicken treat that truly lives up to its name!

Ingredients for Chicken Lollipops

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Soy sauce, 1 tablespoon
  • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic
  • Green chile peppers, finely chopped 1 teaspoon
  • Half a teaspoon of chili powder
  • Red food coloring, 1 drop
  • 10 chicken wings
  • Cornstarch 4 tablespoons
  • Canola oil, 2 quarts for frying or as required

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the salt, soysauce, vinegar, green chiles and chili powder with red food coloring until they are all the same color.

Step 2

Add wings to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover the bowl and soak for 30 minutes in the fridge.

Step 3

Heat oil to 375 degrees F in a large saucepan or deep fryer.

Step 4

Mix cornstarch and marinade in a bowl to form a batter. Dunk the wings into the batter and coat them.

Step 5

Fry until crispy and cook for approximately 10 minutes. A thermometer with an instant read should show 165 degrees F. Clear out the liquid on a plate lined with paper towels.
