Chicken Caesar Dip
Chicken Caesar Dip
Chicken Caesar Dip, creamy, cheesy and full of savory flavors, is the ideal appetizer or party snack. This warm dip, which is a twist on classic Caesar salad, features shredded chicken and tangy Caesar dressing. It’s baked to perfection, with cheese melted on top. Watch it disappear when you serve it with crunchy vegetables, toasted bread or crispy crackers.
Ingredients:
- About 2 medium breasts of cooked chicken, 2 cups shredded.
- 1/4 cup Caesar dressing (made or purchased)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Half a cup of grated Parmesan Cheese
- Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
- Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon
- 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
- Green onions can be garnished with 1/4 cup of chopped green onion.
- Add 1/4 cup bacon crumbles for flavor.
- Fresh parsley chopped (optional garnish, for garnish).
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375degF. This will help your dip to bake evenly, and turn golden and bubbly.
2. Prepare the chicken:
- If you do not have pre-cooked poultry, poach or grill the breasts until they are fully cooked. After cooking, shred the chicken with two forks. This recipe calls for 2 cups of shredded rotisserie chicken.
- You can also use rotisserie poultry for a faster option.
3. Make the dip base:
- Combine the chicken shredded with the Caesar dressing in a medium bowl. Add the softened creamed cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, and garlic powder.
- Mix everything until it is well combined and smooth.
4. Bake the Dip
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, such as a pie dish of 9 inches or a small casserole. Spread the mixture with a spatula.
- Bake the dip in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until it is bubbling and the top has a light golden color.
5. Add Garnishes
- Sprinkle chopped green onions (if you are using bacon), fresh parsley, and crumbled ham on top of the dip to add flavor and color.
6. Serve:
- Serve the Chicken Caesar Dip with tortilla chips, crackers, baguettes, celery, carrots or cucumber slices.
Tip and variations:
- Make-Ahead: You can make the dip in advance and store it in the fridge before baking. You can store the dip in the refrigerator for up to 24 hrs. by assembling the dip and covering it with plastic wrap. You can bake it as usual after removing it from the refrigerator. If it is cold, you may need to add a few minutes.
- Add 1/4 cup of cream cheese or sour cream to make the dip even creamier. For a more tangy taste, you can substitute Greek yogurt.
- You can also use rotisserie poultry from the store. You can skip cooking by shredding the chicken.
- Add some heat: If you want to spice up the dip, add a little red pepper flakes and/or hot sauce before baking.
- Serving Suggestions This dip is great with pita chips or fresh vegetables such as bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and crusty bread.
- Serve it Gluten-Free. If you are serving this dip to a gluten free crowd, serve with gluten-free crackers and vegetable sticks.
