Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich

- 4 Boneless Chicken Breasts
- 2 cups buttermilk (for marinating)
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Peanut Oil
- 4 soft buns, preferably buttered
- Pickles
- Lettuce & tomato (optional, but great for extra flavour)
Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate your chicken
- Pour the buttermilk into a large bowl over the chicken breasts. Make sure that they are fully submerged.
- Let the chicken marinate for at least two hours in the refrigerator (overnight for maximum tenderness is recommended).
Step 2: Prepare Flour Coating
- Mix the (flour), garlic powder, onion, paprika and salt in a shallow dish.
- Combine all ingredients until well combined.
Step 3: Coat the Chicken
- Remove the chicken breasts and buttermilk from the marinade.
- Then, gently press each piece into the flour mixture to ensure that it is coated evenly.
- Allow the chicken to sit for a couple of minutes so that the coating will stick.
Step 4: Fry your chicken
- Heat Peanut Oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. You will need enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan about 1/2 inch.
- When the oil is hot (about 350degF/175degC), place the chicken breasts carefully in the pan.
- Fry the chicken breasts for approximately 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown. To ensure safe consumption, the temperature should reach 165degF.
Step 5: Assemble your Sandwich
- Toast the sandwich rolls in the oven or pan until they are golden brown and crispy.
