How to prepare chicken for pizza

It is necessary to precook the chicken before putting it on the pizza. Raw chicken will not cook through enough on the pizza to make it edible. There are options!

  • It is my go-to option.
  • ROTATE OR GRILL THE CHICKEN BREADS: To cook the chicken for this chicken pizza, I use a classic recipe to make grilled or -baked chicken breasts. I let it cool and then chop or pull it.
  • MEAL PREP/LEFTOVERS: If I have done a good job planning my meals, I will cook an extra breast of chicken when I am preparing another chicken dish. I can then use that extra breast on a pizza.

How to make garlic chicken pizza in the oven

1. ROTATE GARLIC. Trim the tops of three whole heads of cloves of garlic and wrap them in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet. Roast the garlic until it is a dark golden brown color and very soft. Let it cool for 10 minutes or until you can touch it. Remove the skin from garlic cloves.

2. PARBAKE. Stretch and toss the dough into a large circular shape. Place dough on the pizza pan and spray with cooking spray. Bake for 10 minutes in the oven.

3. SPREAD. Spread the pizza sauce on the crust after removing it from the oven. Add the chicken, cheese, and everything bagel seasoning.

4. FINISH. Finish. Return the pizza to the oven, and bake it until the cheese has melted and all the dough has been cooked. Sprinkle the spinach on top of the pizza, and bake for another 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

  • PREP. Preheat your grill to prepare it for two-zone cooking. Half of your grill should be on medium heat (direct heat), and the other should be off.
  • PARCOOK. Form your dough, brush it with oil and then place it on the grill. Cook the dough for a couple of minutes on each side until it is firm and grill-marked.
  • TOPPINGS. Add the sauce and the majority of your toppings to the dough, then place it on the indirect side of the grill for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the dough is fully cooked.
  • FINISH. Sprinkle with greens and slice!

  • You don’t have the time to roast garlic yourself? If you’re in a hurry, you can buy roasted cloves of garlic at the olive bar of an upscale supermarket.
  • Allow the dough to come to room temperature for at least 20-30 minutes before you begin to stretch it. This will make it easier to handle.
